90 million Canadian dollars from Canada to (UNRWA)
Canada announced on Monday that it will provide financial aid of 90 million Canadian dollars, equivalent to 70 million US dollars, to help the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
Her problems were exacerbated by the suspension of support from Washington in 2018.
The Canadian Foreign Ministry said that this aid will meet the needs of the increasing Palestinian refugees, especially in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The statement indicated that this funding will help about half a million boys and girls in Palestine to obtain good education, and it will also help in operating about 140 medical clinics to provide medical care, especially after the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.
In addition to providing food and good shelter for poor families. The Canadian Minister of Development (Karina Gold) said that the suffering of Palestinian refugees cannot be denied, especially at the time that the Corona pandemic spreads, as many of them may face high rates of poverty, food insecurity and unemployment.
The Canadian financial aid was resumed by Prime Minister (Justin Trudeau) in 2016, after it was stopped by Stephen Harper, a former Conservative prime minister close to Israel.
During the three years from 2016 to 2019, the government of (Justin Trudeau) donated 110 million Canadian dollars, equivalent to 85 million dollars to UNRWA. It also provided $ 1.5 million to help UNRWA deal with the Corona pandemic last April.
