Fake phone calls scam using Apple's name
The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a warning about phone calls using the robotic system RoboCall and using the name Apple and Amazon to steal people.
She explained that there are two fake versions of the system, one of which is a recorded message informing the user that there has been a purchase made on his own account in Amazon, or that the retailer cannot fulfill the request at the present time.
The second release informs the user that Apple has noticed suspicious activity on his Icloud account and that it may have been hacked.
In both versions, the user is required to press No. 1 to speak to a customer service representative. If the user presses No. 1, he will be answered by one of the fraudsters and the opportunity to steal his personal account information is great, as well as personal information and credit card numbers.
The FTC warned against pressing 1 or calling back the number and advises to ignore and end these calls immediately.
